A message from Maine Veterans’ Homes about the Coronavirus

MVH Community,

Based on guidance from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Maine Veterans’ Homes is happy to once again offer in-person visits with residents. As guidelines allow, we are also instituting changes for vaccinated residents that include communal dining for residents, activities without having to be social distanced, and limited outings both with families and with fellow residents.

A number of these allowances, including visitation, depend on if the resident and/or their visitor is vaccinated. Each of our Homes has developed a visitation schedule and areas depending on your loved one’s situation. Please call the Home where your loved one resides and a staff member will be happy to go over the guidance for visitation and schedule visits outside of the regular schedule for special circumstances.

Stay up to date with news from your loved one’s Home

Our Homes hold conference calls for family members and/or resident representatives that range from twice-weekly to once a month. We encourage families to participate in the calls so they can receive an update from the Administrator as well as have a chance to ask questions about COVID-19 and its impact on visitations, activities within the Home, and more. If you have specific questions about your loved one, we encourage you to call the nurse’s station on your loved one’s unit. Please see below for the day(s) and times(s) for your Home’s call as well as the Meeting ID you will need to enter.
