A message from Maine Veterans’ Homes about the coronavirus

Dear MVH Community,

Based on guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, we have decided to restrict visitors from entering our buildings. This is a precautionary action to help protect our residents who are at the highest risk for contracting the coronavirus.

CMS is allowing an exception for family of residents on hospice and end of life care, as long as they pass health screening at entry and wear provided personal protective equipment during the visit. Please contact your local MVH Home if you think you may qualify or have any questions.

We understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important, and there are a variety of ways you might consider doing that. These may include telephone, email (we have provided access below), text or through Skype and Facebook.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work together towards the health and safety of our community.

Sincerely,

Kelley J. Kash, Colonel, USAF, MSC (Retired)
CEO, Maine Veterans’ Homes
