Maine Veterans' Homes Guides

Am I Eligible?

At Maine Veterans’ Homes, everything we do is centered around providing the best Veteran care in the nation. We are dedicated to serving honorably discharged Veterans who were residents of Maine at the time of their entry into the U.S. Armed Forces or who are residents of Maine at the time of their application to MVH. We also serve the spouses, widows or widowers and Gold Star parents of eligible Veterans. Eligible MVH Veterans must have served one or more days on active duty, yet there is no requirement for our Veterans to have served in combat or have a service-connected disability.

Give Back to Those Who Served

As an independent nonprofit organization, Maine Veterans’ Homes relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations to help us provide activities and programs to improve the health and enjoyment of our residents. The MVH mission statement is Caring For Those Who Served, and daily, we provide care and comfort to approximately 600 Veterans, spouses and Gold Star parents in our six Homes across Maine. We believe it is a privilege and our responsibility to provide care and support for those who honorably served our country and their families.
