Other Donation Types

There are many ways to make a gift to MVH, and all are gratefully received in support of our Veterans.
Should you decide to honor our Veterans with a gift described below, please contact our Development Team directly to assist you with any of the gift types noted below. You can email development@mainevets.org or call 207-622-0075.

Gifts In Kind

A Gift In Kind is a non-monetary gift such as DVDs, magazines, or books for resident use. Like all other gift types, contributions can be made to the Central Office or a Home, but not to an individual employee. Please contact our Development Team to discuss our current need for any in-kind donation you wish to make, as some restrictions on what we can accept do apply. We will assist you in completing a Gift In Kind Form to designate the use of your gift. Gifts In Kind that exceed $500 in value require a Gift Agreement, coordinated with our Development Team.

Gifts of Stocks & Bonds

We are grateful to receive your gift in the form of stock or bonds. Our Development Team is happy to assist you with the necessary information to move forward with a transfer.

Bequests or Estate Gifts

Bequests are gifts left to Maine Veterans’ Homes through the donor’s last will. Estate gifts are established as intended future gifts from your estate/will, by adding a codicil to your Will, naming Maine Veterans’ Homes as a beneficiary.

Matching Gifts

Matching Gifts are contributions received from an individual’s employer or the employer’s foundation that are generated because of an employee’s donation to MVH. If your employer has a matching gift program please reach out to our Development Team to coordinate your gift for the maximum benefit.  

Gifts of Real Estate

Gifts of Real Estate represent inherent complexities and risks. However, MVH will consider and evaluate all offers of real estate gifts.

Gifts of Life Insurance Policies

Gifts of Life Insurance Policies may be accepted as long as MVH is named as owner and beneficiary of the policy. For support with your donation of a Life Insurance Policy, please contact the MVH Development Team.
